St. Ann’s Warehouse: David Bowie, Lou Reed, Joe Strummer, Rufus Wainwright, John Cale, and Nick Cave have all performed celebrated concerts at this glorious concert hall. Located in North Brooklyn , the place only seats 1,500 people, consequently meaning that you are almost being serenaded by anyone who plays here.
McCarren Park Pool: Considered the Mecca for the new Hipster movement, the re-invigorated McCarren Park Pool offers a chance to catch some of the more alternative music acts of today. ISSUE Project Room: A factory for producing its own unique talent, the ISSUE Project House is a school for those wanting to get ahead in the music world. Here you be treated to some well-rehearsed covers, and some breath-taking originals, this venue allows you to delve into the ever-changing face of the New York music scene.
Southpaw: Beer swilling and blues playing, expect to be treated to some of the definitive underground blues music. The venue itself seems lifted from a movie set, with a long slender, bar place almost directly in front of a step on stage. It doesn’t get more intimate then this.
Williamsburg Waterfront: Williamsburg Waterfront is one of the few outdoor venues in New York. The large promenade looks out on to the Hudson River where many famous bands are always playing, including Death Cab for Cutie and They Might be Giants. When the weather is warm, and you have a bunch of friends by your side, this is possibly one of the most exhilarating things that New York has to offer.
