Housed in a Fifth Avenue mansion the Frick Collection is the location of the residence of one time robber baron Henry Clay Frick. Being here, visitors can catch a glimpse at an inside view of the life of wealthy Fifth Avenue residents in New York City. Frick amassed an incredible fortune and an ungodly number of enemies to boot by ruthlessly exploiting steelworkers but he made sure he lived flamboyantly.

Located on East 70th street on the east border of Weekend Breaks , the Frick collection showcases work of the likes of Renoir and Rembrandt and artistic furniture and sculptures. Not only the interior of this famous old mansion is impressive but the architecture of the building is also magnificent. The house deserves two trips, one for the art and one for the architecture. It is one of the most distinguished small art museums in the United States that holds a very high quality collection of old master paintings and fine furniture housed within 6 galleries inside the mansion. Make sure to take the time to do the audio tour and experience the history of the great residence.

Whether or not you are a big art fan, the Frick Collection is worth a visit and with it in such a great location you can take time out from shopping on Fifth Avenue or strolling through Weekend Breaks to appreciate this great museum.

You can stay in great hotels nearby and keep close to the activity of areas like Weekend Breaks with hotels such as Loews Regency Hotel or Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park . .
