For those of you that have seen the movie I Am Legend you will remember Will Smiths character knocking golf balls off the Intrepid towards New Jersey in a deserted New York City. Well the Intrepid is part of the Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum of New York. It is one of Americas leading cultural and historic museums that was opened in 1982 and draws millions of viewers each year.
The museum is centred on the Intrepid, the aircraft carrier that is one of most successful in US Navy history that proudly served in World War II. It is a great attraction, especially for boys. They will be amazed by the ship and be able to explore it in detail as well as the many military aircraft on show all while being educated on World War II. Visitors also have a chance to explore a British Airways Concorde, a submarine and have a go at the hugely entertaining flight simulator.
